Why We Chose BBL HEROic:

We have offered laser treatments at Bare Element for years, but we are always looking for ways to give our clients better results, more customization and a more comfortable experience.

BBL HEROic is not your average IPL treatment. Its intelligent technology tracks the movement and positioning of the handpiece to deliver more uniform and precise pulses across the treatment area.

For our clients, that means:

  • Faster treatment times

  • More even energy delivery

  • A more comfortable treatment

  • Advanced cooling throughout the service

  • Little to no downtime

  • The ability to treat several concerns during one appointment

  • Customizable treatments

What Conditions Can Be Treated?

Sun Damage

Years of UV exposure leave behind brown spots and uneven pigmentation. BBL breaks up unwanted pigment for a brighter, more even complexion.

Rosacea & Redness

Persistent facial redness and flushing can often be dramatically improved by targeting the tiny blood vessels responsible for redness.

Acne

BBL helps reduce acne-causing bacteria while calming inflammation, making it an excellent treatment for both active breakouts and oily skin.

Acne Pigmentation

Leftover red and brown marks after acne fade faster with BBL by treating both pigment and vascular discoloration.

Anti-Aging

Regular maintenance treatments help improve overall skin tone, stimulate collagen, and keep skin looking healthier over time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does BBL HEROic hurt?

Most patients describe BBL HEROic as feeling like a quick warm snap, similar to a rubber band, followed immediately by cooling. The treatment is well tolerated, and no numbing cream is typically needed.

What should I expect after treatment?

Immediately after treatment, your skin may appear mildly pink or feel warm, similar to a light sunburn, for a few hours. Brown spots will temporarily darken before naturally flaking away over the next 7–14 days. If you're treating redness or rosacea, mild swelling or redness may occur and typically resolves within 24–48 hours. Most patients return to normal activities immediately, but sunscreen and sun protection are essential.

How many treatments will I need?

While many patients notice improvement after a single treatment, we typically recommend a series of 3 treatments, spaced approximately 4 weeks apart, for the best correction of sun damage, pigmentation, redness, rosacea, and acne. Maintenance treatments every 6–12 months can help keep your skin looking its best.

When will I see results?

Brown spots typically begin to darken within a few days before naturally flaking away over 1–2 weeks. Redness and rosacea gradually improve over a series of treatments, while collagen stimulation continues for several months after treatment.

Can I wear makeup afterward?

Yes. Most patients can return to work and their normal routine immediately. If your skin feels sensitive, you may prefer to wait until the following day before applying makeup.

Can BBL HEROic be combined with other treatments?

Absolutely. One of our favorite treatment combinations is BBL HEROic followed by CoolPeel®. BBL HEROic targets pigmentation, redness, rosacea, and vascular concerns, while CoolPeel improves skin texture, fine lines, enlarged pores, and acne scarring. Together, they create a comprehensive skin rejuvenation treatment with minimal downtime.

What areas can be treated?

BBL HEROic can be used on the face, neck, chest, shoulders, arms, hands, and back—anywhere sun damage, pigmentation, redness, acne, or vascular concerns are present.

Who is a good candidate for BBL HEROic?

BBL HEROic is best suited for patients with Fitzpatrick skin types I– IV skin tones.

What is the Fitzpatrick Skin Scale?

The Fitzpatrick Skin Scale is a system providers use to classify skin based on how it reacts to sun exposure. It helps us choose the safest and most effective treatment settings for your skin.

  • Type I: Very fair skin that always burns and never tans

  • Type II: Fair skin that usually burns and tans minimally

  • Type III: Light to medium skin that may burn at first but gradually tans

  • Type IV: Olive or light brown skin that tans easily and rarely burns

  • Type V: Brown skin that rarely burns

  • Type VI: Deep brown to dark skin that almost never burns

Patients with Fitzpatrick skin types V and VI are generally not candidates for BBL HEROic because the increased melanin in the skin can increase the risk of pigmentation changes. If BBL HEROic isn't the safest option for your skin, we'll recommend an alternative treatment that's better suited for your skin type.

Is there any downtime?

There is little to no downtime. Most patients return to normal activities immediately after treatment. Pigmented spots will temporarily darken before flaking off naturally, and mild redness may occur for a few hours. Daily sunscreen and limiting sun exposure are important while your skin heals.
