FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT LASER HAIR REMOVAL

Is it Safe?

Our lasers at Bare Element are FDA approved for safe and effective hair removal. Our treatments are non-invasive and will be customized to your skin type by our highly trained medical professionals. You may experience some redness or swelling, but this is temporary and does not cause pain. In addition, our lasers are only operated by medical professionals who are highly trained and certified in the use of lasers.

Does it Hurt?

The lasers used at Bare Element are equipped with a dynamic cooling device. Just before the laser pulse, the skin is cooled, minimizing any discomfort. Clients have described the feeling as a rubber band snap to the skin while others have not felt any pain at all.

Is it Permanent?

The FDA states that laser treatments are only approved for “permanent hair reduction.” As we mentioned, hair removal is only effective when the hair follicle is in the active growth phase. The average customer will need 6-10 treatments to successfully complete their hair removal process. The number of treatments needed varies for each individual due to hormone levels, treatment levels, and but not limited to your skin type. To satisfy all of our customers, if after 10 treatments you are not satisfied, we will offer you half off your future treatments for that area.

Do I need to grow out my hair before?

No. Shave the area closely the day before or the day of your laser treatment. Why? The shorter the hair length, the more effective the laser is to reaching the hair follicle. DO NOT wax, pluck, or tweeze the area prior to your treatment, only shave!

Can I shave in-between my treatments?

Yes you can. Just do not wax, pluck, or tweeze in-between.

Is your laser effective on all skin types?

Our laser is effective on skin types 1-4, based on the Fitzgerald skin type chart. If you are unsure of your skin type, give us a call and we can type your skin over the phone!

I'm pregnant can I have laser hair removal treatments?

Although there are no studies suggesting harm to an unborn baby from laser hair removal treatments, we cannot laser pregnant women.

I'm trying to get pregnant, can I still start laser hair removal treatments?

Yes, you can. If you become pregnant within the duration of treatments, we will have to wait on further treatments until after you conceive.

Do you offer any guarantees or packages?

When choosing a salon for laser hair removal be weary of expensive long term packages offered. At Bare Element we keep it simple, we charge you per treatment, at an affordable price. We decided it would not be fair to charge our customers a set package price since the number of treatments needed varies per individual. Many packages or memberships offered drag your treatment period out for 18-24 months, when it should only take you about 8-12 months to complete your treatment program. Our guarantee to you is if after 10 treatments you are not satisfied, we will offer you half off your future treatments.

How long will my treatment take?

Depending on the body area being treated, laser hair removal can take anywhere from 15- 60 minutes. For example, if you plan to have your legs or arms lasered, this can take up 60 minutes. If you are having your underarms lasered, we can have you in and out in approximately 25 minutes, so stop in on your lunch break!

How many Treatments will I need?

Each individuals skin and hair are different, so results will vary from person to person. Factors in which influence the hair growth cycle include, hormone levels, ethnicity, age, weight, metabolism, and medication use. The average customer will only need 6 treatments. Sometimes it will take 8-10 treatments. After your first treatment, you will come back in every 4-6 weeks to zap your hairs in the active growth phase. After 8-12 months your treatments will be complete and you will be hair free. Again, our guarantee to you is that if after 10 treatments you are not satisfied, we will offer you half off your future treatments for the specific area being treated
